Dairy cows are impregnated via artificial insemination. Semen is collected from bulls by force and then diluted and inserted into multiple cows. These cows have no choice but to get pregnant only to have their offspring taken away from them with in the first few hours of life. 

Most Male offspring are killed within their first few days of life as they don't produce milk and their for are not profitable to the dairy industry. Most female cows will grow up only to go through the same process their mother has gone through. 

Cows on dairy farms undergo multiple 9 month pregnancies so that they continue to produce milk. Once they can't get pregnant they are killed. It is cruel to force somebody to be pregnant, take their babies and then take their milk and then kill them. 

This petition proposes the end of artificial insemination practice as a strong starting point to end these cruel practice and liberate all cows. 

Now that we know a healthy diet can be available without the enclusion of dairy we believe these practices are outdated. 

Landcorp farming LTD is one of NZ biggest dairy farms and is owned by the government, why doesn't NZ government be leaders in transition and innovation and begin to diversity their farms milk production into plant based milk to help incentivise smaller farms to diversify.
