PenAir PBG EAS contract

I have never been one to turn to Facebook for issues involving my life or anything close. However, it’s in a time of need where I’m going to turn to you all. I work for PenAir as an aircraft mechanic here in Plattsburgh. The staple of my company is the EAS contract that we receive from the government as an investment to keep our planes here and flying. PenAir has completed multiple honor flights of which most of you have been involved. This company is a huge community player. From money donations, ticket donations, honor flights and so on. The EAS contract is now up for bid for the next 2 years. If you read the article from the press republican you will read nothing but lies. We have been in business here for 6 years, not 2. And the 2 to 1 over Boston was taken as a vote behind closed doors. The city of plattsburgh wants to uproot our company and replace us with Skywest and run a route to Washington Dulles airport. This would result in the loss of my job, my coworkers jobs, honor flights, and many community sponsored events. Fortunately for us the DOT makes the final call on who is awarded the EAS contract. This decision will be made on Feb. 8th 2018. What I ask from you is as many letters as possible to the DOT before February 8th praising this company for the good they have done. The community holds a big part in this decision. If this company was to come in there would be no maintenance jobs here in Plattsburgh thus resulting in my needing to move for work. Anything you guys can do is one more vote for us to stay here. It is greatly appreciated and I will never be able to thank you enough if we are awarded this contract. Thank you guys
