On Wednesday, March 8th the CB10 Parks and Recreation committee voted unanimously to support the transfer of Nelson Mandela Community Garden from HPD to Parks. While the battle is not over, this is an important step forward in our fight for preservation. I would like to extend special thanks to CB10 P&R chair Karen Horry and James Gigi for their wisdom and support. Also, thanks members of our community who showed up and members of the press who helped make our voices heard. And especially I would like to thank his garden mentor Cindy Worley of Project Harmony (which shall be known henceforth as "The Mother of all Gardens"
