This petition will be submitted to the NYC DOT to request a speed reducer on the service road of Riverside Drive at the entrance of Riverside Park at W 99 on the Upper West Side. Currently, there is a stop light at W 97 and RSD and W 100 and RSD, but drivers speed past W 97 without stopping till W 100. Despite W 99 and RSD being a busy pedestrian crossing, including many children and pets, there is NO indication to drivers to use caution, slow down or yield to pedestrians entering or exiting Riverside Park. I have seen many neighbors in my community run to get out of the way of speeding drivers and I myself have nearly been hit multiple times while walking my dogs. We need to have something done about this dangerous intersection before someone is hurt or killed. Please share!!
