The excessive speeding and disregard for stop signs, red lights and pedestrians in Sunnyside and Woodside is extremely dangerous. The unsafe conditions on our local streets is especially bad on 48th Street from Queens Blvd to Northern Blvd and on 39th Avenue from 61st to 43rd streets. Even with markings of 20mph and speed bumps on Woodside Ave, cars routinely speed in excess of 40mph, blow through red lights and disregard stop signs. If this isn't stopped, accidents will increase and lives will be endangered. With the new schools, increase in bikers, and a growing population in Sunnyside, the problem is a growing concern to the community.  Please ask the DOT, 108th precinct and our local officials to look into the speeding issues on our streets. Special thank you to the108th precinct and the NYPD for hearing our concerns and always working to keep our communities safe!
