Integrate New York City Public Schools NOW!

Despite the fact that New York City is hugely diverse, the city has one of the most segregated school systems in the nation, which we want to change. People should be able to get the same education no matter where they live, their race, religion, etc.
In our schools, we learn about the injustice of segregation and the people who have stood up to it. However, we are taught about this same injustice within an extremely segregated school system. The neighborhood that someone lives in (which is often based on race, religion, and economics) affects what elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and even what job you will have. Even though the school system is not as directly segregated as before the civil rights movement, segregation is intertwined into NYC’s school system. This is hypocritical and not okay. As elementary and middle school students we are asking NYC to integrate our schools.
