We are The Greek in Tribeca. For the past two years we have been unable to operate a sidewalk cafe, since our landlord refuses (for no apparent reason) to sign the Landlord Authorization Form.
His resistance to sign the Form is discriminatory and unjust, since he allows the next door restaurant to operate a sidewalk cafe. Even though sidewalks are city property, we have found ourselves hostages of our landlord's determination to do anything to shut us down.
We ask that you sign this petition so we can submit it to the New York City Council to change legislation and omit the landlord authorization form from the application process.
No landlord should have to power to determine a small business' success or failure.
No landlord should be able to halt a business' opportunity to grow and prosper.
