Important update + HDFC Coalition Citywide Meeting Oct 27 at 6pm

Hello fellow HDFC shareholders, The HDFC Coalition has been extremely busy as we now face perhaps our biggest challenge in decades: HPD's effort to convince our (your) City Council Members to allow HPD to take away the low HDFC real estate tax rate unless we sign an extremely restrictive new 40-yr "Regulatory Agreement" that hands over control of our buildings to the City via "monitors" chosen by HPD that we would have to pay for. This would force our buildings into financial distress and cause maintenance to rise, and also cause us to lose control of our building's bank account, along with price caps that destroy the value of our apartment shares, make it hard to buy or sell our apartments, etc. HPD is trying to rush this through the City Council this fall/winter, from what we understand, if they can... The HDFC Coalition and Manhattan Community Boards 9 & 12 has therefore put together a legal panel of independent HDFC attorneys who can discuss these crucial issues now facing all HDFCs: CITYWIDE HDFC MEETING Thursday, October 27 at 6:00pm 3940 Broadway at West 165th Street in Manhattan Take #1, A, or C train to 168th St. then walk to 165th We will also help you meet other HDFC shareholders in your area to organize by City Council District at the meeting. It is so important that your City Council Member hear from you! Two flyers are on our website that you can download, post and share: one for the meeting, and another informational flyer.
