Supporters of a controversial plan to put the Bronx's first animal shelter in Co-op City took aim at the borough president Tuesday, a day after he said he opposed the idea. Bronx Animal Rights Electors, Co-op residents, and animal advocates held a quick press rally after our Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz rejected the state of the art Bronx shelter and Veterinary Clinic at Bay Plaza. Please keep signing and sharing our petition. It isn't over. We did have a major setback but we will still fight and even win if more people join and assist us in the Bronx. The city council will decide next and we will post soon their names and contact for all animal lovers and compassionate people to call and ask them to do the right thing. Meanwhile Please contact Corey Johnson, the Speaker of New York City Council and ask him to support our Bronx Animal Shelter at Bay Plaza. Ask him to put compassion, people and animals before developers who influence our government's decision making. SpeakerJohnson@council.nyc.gov cc bronxanimalrightselectors@gmail.com if you want us to follow up with his office.
