SO we still have till July 28th to "advocate" for our animal shelter before our Borough Presidents makes his decision. His decision can save all the animals in our Borough, so please keep sending those emails and sharing our petition to your friends and family and neighbors.
Yesterday, July 19th we hand delivered all your wonderful emails as well as the change.org petition with over 4,200 signatures as well as 800 signed postcards.
Several Bronx Animal Advocates testified on behalf of our animals and residents and made strong points.
The opposition did bus in over 105 seniors to oppose the animal shelter and stated they wanted a youth center even though they don't have children of that age to utilize such a youth center. We found out that Corey Ortega from NYCVetsAlliance send employees to coop city to collect signatures against the animal shelter in favor of a youth center. Yet we heard them misinform the public that they were working with Community Board 10 and they didn't mention they were on behalf of the supportive housing for the homeless.
As amNY reported " A Bronx Property the city wants for an animal shelter is being eyed by a developer" https://www.amny.com/real-estate/bronx-animal-shelter-1.19460507
Bronx Times just published a story about our petition efforts to save our Bronx Animal Shelter

and our local newspaper Norwood News published our letter to the editor on Community Board 10's lack of transparency and objectivity when they took the NO vote against our animal shelter

Anyone who lives in the city and wants to help us collect postcards, please send us an email to Bronxanimalrightselectors@gmail.com
