Co-Name West 214th Street and Broadway as Renee Mancino Way

The Issue

Renee Mancino was an Inwood resident who founded and opened Carrot Top Pastries at 5025 Broadway on West 214th Street in 1979. Renee was known equally for her delicious baked goods and her remarkable dedication to the community.

For over 35 years, Renee generously donated to senior centers, little leagues, neighborhood organizations, cultural institutions, historic houses, colleges, universities, local police, fire and sanitation departments.

Renee baked for Morgan Freeman, Stevie Wonder, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Roberta Flack, Richard Pryor and hundreds of other celebrities in addition to thousands of Washington Heights and Inwood community residents.
