Officially acknowledge the low GPU utilization bug many customers are experiencing with the GTX 970 and GTX 980 graphics card.

The Issue

Many loyal and new customers of Nvidia bought their new GTX 970 or GTX 980 graphics cards and have been experiencing issues where they have not been achieving the full potential of the card. Running at full potential the card should be achieving close to, or right at 99% usage while gaming, customers have been reporting usage fluctuating from 20-80%, resulting in an almost unplayable gaming experience.

The GTX 970 graphics card costs upwards of $320 and the GTX 980 a steep $550 which is definitely on the high end of the market and would thus expect their new card to perform at a high level. Instead, the card barely reaches the level of performance it was advertised to have achieved and often under performs when compared to cards that, on paper it should far exceed. Any solution that has been suggested so far, to my knowledge has not been effective.

Those experiencing this problem have met the requirements for this card to operate correctly and have a wide range of PC components, which rules out that this problem is directly related to any other defective product besides the graphics card. Customers have RMA'd(returned for repair or replacement) their cards in case it was defective but when they got their new unit, the problem persisted.

Main forum on issue: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/781982/geforce-drivers/nvidia-geforce-gtx-900-series-feedback-gathering-low-gpu-load-and-other-issues-/1/ Large numbers of customers experiencing this issue (over 700 posts on Nvidia's own forum have been posted) have been reporting this defect on the official Nvidia forms since the card's launch in September and have heard no official acknowledgment from Nvida besides that they are, "gathering data."

Any gamer who wants the best for the PC gaming community, please sign this petition. Nvidia, among other companies, must be held to a standard that respects it's customers and treats them as valued members of their business operation. Anyone who buys this $320 or $550 card has the right to a fully functional graphics card.

Thank you.
