Our group is trying to tackle the problem of obesity in America, starting with the youth in Sacramento. We are trying to combat the lack of nutrition/health education that is missing throughout a student’s academic career. Many or most students are not taught how to take care of their bodies when growing up, leading to future health complications and unhappy living. Currently there is no requirement for any public schools to teach a nutrition education class or lesson course, it is only “encouraged” in the California Dept. of Education. The goal is to push for implementation of a nutrition/health curriculum into current P.E. classes. Please sign our petition in support!
