Stop using Palm Oil - Find more sustainable sources!
The Issue
Billions of brands use palm oil. Cadbury, Nutella, Nestlé and L'Oréal. There are sustainable sources out there, but with big brands, comes commitment to products and it’s hard to change recipes etc. So many people love the brand, making it hard to stop buying their products. Why not modernise your brand? My family used to buy Nutella once a year, at Christmas - but now we don’t. We hope to see a change in products like Nutella without supporting deforestation.
When we purchase a product containing palm oil, we lose another load of trees, because by planting palm, poor people who need money to feed themselves and their families, work to cut down other types of trees, homes to all sorts of animals - commonly in the Amazon Rainforest, but there are so many other places where this happens! We’ve all heard of the horrific wildfires around the globe, we are losing our oxygen supply, and fast! Trees take in our carbon dioxide from cars, machinery and ourselves, all human inventions. Our living and breathing space depends on all those trees out there. The more we destroy, the less air we can breathe. Billions of homes are being destroyed right now. Not just animals, but humans too. I’m a young mind and I’m not the only one who wants to be able to see my family continue for many years on. Without your help, us younger generation won’t have anything to live on. Even if ‘in five billion years the sun will implode and take the inner planets with it’ , even if ‘bacteria takes over’ etc. sure, these arguments probably will eventually happen. We are hurting our world. We are destroying the land we stand upon. Many countries can disagree and disapprove with our actions as some of them have only just started their industrial revolution. So we have to take a stand. Wherever we are or whoever we are. We need to act now and take a stand, otherwise there will be nothing to stand on. We would’ve lost a planet. Literally. We would’ve lost a planet as-well as making everything on it extinct, before it’s known expiry date. We need to stop, think and take action. Fight for sustainable products!
