Change Pinning Ceremony Dress Code
Change Pinning Ceremony Dress Code
The Issue
Upon receiving the pinning ceremony uniform, we believe it is not appropriate attire to commemorate our graduation from the nursing program. The pinning ceremony is an opportunity for graduates to be welcomed into the profession of nursing. Thus, the dress for the ceremony should reflect the professional nature of the occasion.
We are suggesting a professional dress code to consist of: slacks and a collared shirt for men with lab coat; slacks and a blouse, or skirt and blouse, or dress with lab coat for women. Skirts or dresses must be knee length and women's heel height is to be no higher than 3 inches.
We are respectfully asking the nursing administration to allow students to wear professional attire to the pinning ceremony.
Our signature acknowledges that by electing to forgo the scrub uniform we are pledging to wear appropriate business attire to the pinning ceremony.
