Sphamandla paid the ultimate price and sacrifice of his life, for being openly gay to his friends and community.

GLASA in alliance with other like-minded organisation and members of the Kwamashu / Ntuzuma community, will picket on Friday, 16 April 2021 at 8h30 outside the Ntuzuma Magistrate Court, where picketers will give an opportunity to sign our petition booklet to be handed over to the Ntuzuma Magistrate Court in light of the gender based hate crime insurgency that is happening all over the country.

We as GLASA deem this as a hate crime that was long premeditated.

We call upon the justice system to deny Thando Mgenge bail for such an atrocious act, we strongly believe that Mgenge poses a huge threat to society and fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
