Dogs have travelled on leads onto the Palm Beach to Wagstaff and Ettalong Fantasea Ferry for many years without problems. Fantasea Palm Beach and their staff have always welcomed Dogs on board . However now the NSW Transport demands that dogs must travel in a Carrier on and off the Ferry from 1st July 2021. This will be virtually impossible to carry a medium to large size dog onto the Ferry.  Many elderly take their dogs on the Ferry to visit their relatives or for walking exercise along the beaches and just to get out and about to Ettalong, Wagstaff or Palm Beach with their dog/s. This ferry service is laid back traveling from one beach to another not an overcrowded Ferry Service of busy city workers . I take my daughters 21kg dog Cody to visit her on weekends to Palm Beach on the 30min safe Ferry ride so she won’t have to drive on the busy less safe Highway for hours back and forth . I’m unable to lift the heavy weight of 21kgs along with the added weight of a container/ carrier.  I won’t be the only person either let alone the disabled . Less people will travel on this Ferry and Fantasea will lose many fares if this unnecessary NSW Transport Act is implemented.  My daughter won’t see her dog as much and unnecessary depression will set in . Many people and children love to see dogs on the Ferry, they pat them and smile , animals are beneficial for our Mental Health especially now with Covid. I implore the NSW Transport to allow dogs to keep traveling on their leads not in Containers/carrier on the Fantasea Palm Beach Ferry ! Please help this to happen by signing my petition !
