Gift us our park - the heart of Suffolk Park!

Gift us our park - the heart of Suffolk Park!
The issue
The Community of Suffolk Park, NSW 2481, request that the title of Lot 60, Beech Drive be transferred from the NSW Department of Education to Byron Shire Council - enabling this land to be officially recognised as Community Land. Land to be held in perpetuity for the Suffolk Park Community.
As Lot 60 is currently owned by the State Government and this community is part of a NSW Electorate, we believe we have been fostering this land/our park, for over a decade and should now formally adopt it.
We will then continue to care for and enjoy our park, including: our Community Gardens, the home ground of Suffolk Park F.C, our BMX Pump Track, Children's Playground and Early Morning Exercise Groups. It's our neighbourhood's only, open green space and outdoor exercise area - thus creating Suffolk Park's 'village green'.
Regional communities require a healthy hub for their social, physical and mental well being. Suffolk Park's population of over 4,000 residents deserves to be gifted this land. Our park deserves to remain, forever, as it is - as the heart of Suffolk Park.
