Please reinstate missing mother, daughter, grandmother, friend Marion Barter back onto the Missing persons register, Marion has not been sighted since June 1997.

She booked a year long trip to the UK after suddenly selling her home and resigning from her job as an award winning school teacher at the prestigious boys school TSS ( The Southport School) . She changed her name to Florabella Natalia Marion Remakel via deed poll in May 1997 but didn’t tell her family. Whilst in the UK, she called and sent numerous post cards, letters  and birthday presents. When she failed to contact her son Owen on Oct 18th 1997 for his birthday, alarm bells rang and her eldest child Sally, called her bank to check if she was using her account. She was informed that $5000 was stripped from her account in Byron Bay NSW and Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast  every day for over 3 weeks with approx $120,000 being withdrawn.

All the while her family thought she was having the time of her life in the UK, her disappearance was reported to NSW police in October 1997. They failed to list her as missing , calling it an “Occurance.”

Marion was placed on the Missing Persons Register in 2007 but was removed in 2011.

We are seeking your support to have Marion Barter reinstated onto the register.
