The issue

It's been twenty years since the tragic loss of my son, Adam Cecil. On Wednesday 3rd of August, 2005, Adam was assaulted at 3 Ozone Street, Cronulla and later passed away at Sutherland Hospital. Police immediately assumed that Adam had jumped from the roof of the building, with the intention of taking his own life. NSW Police were unable to establish how Adam got onto the roof.

Two Coronial Inquests have come and gone, both upholding the suicide ruling. Yet, in the aftermath of the second Inquest, it was brought to light that my own legal team had betrayed me, perverted the course of justice which is a criminal offence.  I have documentation proving that I was betrayed by Glenn Miller QC, Andrew Davis Barrister, and John Isaksen Lawyer. Notably, Glen Miller delivered unauthorized verbal submissions.

Transcripts 29 July, 2013 Page 21 (5 – 10) MILLER: The real problem is how he sustained that fall. And to that end we were assisted by my learned friend with a series of questions which we’ve addressed as issues as follows.

Is there any evidence to suggest any third party involvement in the event that contributed to Mr. Cecil’s death? Upon balance at the state of the evidence as it is, on the available evidence our submission on that question is no.

Page 23 (50) MILLER: We’ve added the outlining. We asked rhetorically to what extent your Honor may be satisfied that Adam had fallen from any specific height and it may be that your Honor is able to conclude that Adam suffered injuries as a result of a fall perhaps from a height unknown.

No witnesses were called in the second inquest held under the carriage of Deputy State Coroner H.C.B Dillon

Findings 29/7/2013 Deputy State Coroner H.C.B Dillon  I find that Adam Cecil died on 3 August 2005 at the Sutherland Hospital, Miranda, New South Wales as a result of multiple injuries suffered due to a fall from height. I am unable to determine how that fall came about.

This betrayal has cost me not only my peace and justice for Adam but $240,000 AUD in legal fees, plunging my family into financial hardship. Despite my persistent pleas and substantial evidence, NSW Police including and not limited to Commissioner Karen Webb, Superintendent Craig Middleton and Inspector Tracy Nelson, Professional Standards Manager have turned a deaf ear, denying my son the justice he deserves and leaving our family with more questions than answers.

It's time to demand transparency, accountability, and a reopening of Adam Cecil's case. This isn't just about correcting a legal wrong, it's about honoring the life of a son who was taken too soon.

Join me in urging the NSW Police and the legal system to re-evaluate the circumstances surrounding Adam's death, review the misleading legal practices employed during the inquests, and deliver justice for Adam. Please, sign this petition to help our family finally find justice and peace after two decades of heartache.
