Stop Bullying In Workplaces Australia

The issue

I initially created this petition 9 years ago and it got lost in time...

These issues 9 years on are still occuring pre covid, and unfortunately it will continue after covid, we need a better plan and action for people suffering this treatment in NSW.

To Keep Employee's healthy in their roles and wishing to stay; and be apart of the workforce - instead of not well on Centrelink:

We MUST combat bullying in the workplace at an improved level than it currently is. 

We need politicians in NSW to reform laws to ensure it's NOT protecting such people and their damaging actions towards others in the workplace, Including employers who get it so wrong or believe misinformation and damages people's livlihoods.

We need:

* To create a safer environment in tough financial times for employees and their families.

* To stop workers families being financially disrupted or even homeless due to poor work ethics and environment placing someone's job or health to do the job at risk. 

* To prevent cost to the employer of new hire and training of new staff when it was not necessary.

* To make it very UN-easy to be terminated without valid reasons and the true opportunity to go through conciliation with employer before being unfairly terminated.

* To be able to go to work and not be forced to take a day off due to incompetent bosses or other staff who place extra strain on an individual with poor treatment, unfair blame or cohesion.

* To have a job tomorrow, and next year - and to have true job security without being bullied in a grown up; mature environment.

* To dismantle managers damaging egos with bullying staff in a hope to make them leave or forcing them to leave - even to the length of damaging ones independence, or credibility, including health - and all to the cost of their own employer and tax payers, it's to easy right now to bully anyone at anytime and scapegoat them unfairly. 

These changes may put an end to workplace bullying if the current laws were improved and more enforced when victim's reach out for assistance before or after termination.

If we were to have change; providing more assistance to victims of these workplace crimes-  it would provide better stability for all workers regardless. 

The employer (business -as- a- whole) hired the individual, it is unstable to have ONE person accountable for another individuals existence and mistreat them and than misguide and lie to higher management to excuse these illegal actions. 

Suggestions for NSW Govt and Fairwork:

1. Fairwork Australia to have more access, rights and abilities to investigate such acts within the workplace and erasing a strict and limited timeframe of just 21 Days to apply. 

2. Workcover to change strategy, not having to wait for a response from an employer before being able to investigate on a deeper level. The limits currently leaves victim vulnerable without any voice or action to take. 

3. Create a state-wide register for guilty workplace bullying and intimidation for those who have been charged. 

4. Stop punishing a victim of bullying and be able to let them go back to normal, and placing the bully on the road they choose, not support the bullying! 

5. Being able to charge those via law enforcement and not having to rely on an employer to do it behind the scenes which is leaving victims contemplating unthinkables.
