I am so happy right now it's crazy. TODAY Minister Prue Goward has announced that NSW will introduce domestic violence education into schools!! I just can't believe it. I started this petition off the back of a tragedy - I lost my beautiful mum after years of her suffering to domestic violence. It took its toll on her and us as kids. But we didn't know any different. But now, thanks to my petition and your amazing support - 103,000 of your signatures!! - that's about to change for other kids. Kids will now be taught how to recognise and respond to domestic violence. How to seek help, and maybe for some of them, how to save their mums. It is a overwhelming moment for me. I wish this change had of occurred in time for me to save my mum, but it makes me feel so happy to know it will exist to help others. Mums death wasn't for nothing - it has now helped to create the change to save others. I can't thank you enough for believing in me and supporting me, and for being able to use a site like Change.org to make this happen. Together we have achieved a change that will benefit and empower the silent sufferers of domestic violence: kids. Thank you, Rachel xx
