Stopping the clearfelling will allow trees to continue to grow and store carbon. This carbon would otherwise be released into the atmosphere and accelerate climate change.  Forests clean the air and water and help create rainfall, and they provide homes for wildlife such as koalas, quolls, wallabies and numerous birds.

Cutting, pelletising and BURNING timber for electricity production makes no sense! People worldwide are already dealing with increasing natural disasters and unprecedented temperature and weather extremes.

Burning timber for electricity will exacerbate climate problems when we URGENTLY need to switch to non-polluting power sources such as solar.
