We are calling for the change of date for CHS Swimming to be after April school holidays.

2020 Hancock Prospecting Australian Age Swimming Championships are being held in Perth, from 7 - 12 April, 2020. This is earlier than usual due to scheduling of Olympic Trials for the Tokyo Olympics. All swimmers attending the Australian Age Championships will be in a 'taper' to their training schedules, or even already traveling to Perth on the scheduled CHS Swimming days of 1-3 April.

Most coaches would not encourage their swimmers to compete in a competition during taper, as it would ruin their preparation for the biggest competition that they strive towards all year.

This also affects private & independent school swimmers, as those competitors want to compete against the best that CHS Swimming can bring to All Schools, not just the swimmers that don't make Australian Age Championships.

We also request in future that the dates of Australian Age Championships be taken into account when scheduling CHS Swimming
