6 Jun 2017 — Email: novatocouncil@novato.org The Council meets today to discuss Councilmember Eklund's idea to establish a Hamilton Fund from the proceeds of the sales of vacant properties at Hamilton. The money would be used at Hamilton for special projects such as restoring the Hamilton Theater (Phase 1 is for stage use at $1.3 million). As it is currently set, the money would go into the General Fund to be used by other parts of Novato. It it currently being considered to finish the Downtown SMART station--the third station in Novato and the only one that the city must pay for ($6 million estimate.). Money for special legacy projects is hard to come by. Once the money goes into the General Fund, we will not likely see it again used at Hamilton. Please write in support of creating a Hamilton Legacy Fund for special projects at Hamilton, using money from the last remaining parcels of vacant properties at Hamilton. Thank you for your action today to preserve our historic Hamilton Town Center. -Tracey toruiz@yahoo.com P.S.
