Reverse the new charges for adult social care in Nottinghamshire

Reverse the new charges for adult social care in Nottinghamshire
The Issue
We, the undersigned, petition the Conservative and Coalition Councillors at Nottinghamshire County Council to ask them to immediately reverse the new charges they have implemented for users of adult social care.
These charges impact on almost 1000 disabled people across Nottinghamshire including those who who currently receive care in their own home or use day centres.
Many of these people, and their families and carers, received as little as 48 hours notice that they would have to start paying for their care (or paying more) from Monday the 12th November.
One person affected described the cuts as 'organised cruelty on a massive scale' and said he had been forced into 'such a horrendous position that I don’t feel like a human being anymore'
We believe these charges are unfair and immoral, and we call for an urgent reversal of these charges to ensure vulnerable people are not priced out of receiving the care they need.
Countersigned:-
Councillor Sonya Ward, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Mansfield
Jerry Hague, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Sherwood
Cheryl Pidgeon, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Rushcliffe
Cllr Greg Marshall, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Broxtowe
