Keep Dovecote Lane Open for Residents' Access

Keep Dovecote Lane Open for Residents' Access
The Issue
Local residents are challenging the unilateral decision to run an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) to close a main, direct access to their homes and businesses in Beeston, Nottingham: Dovecote Lane.
While we commend the endeavour to make roads safer for cyclists and pedestrians, and reduce unnecessary traffic by car, it is unclear this is necessary in this location. It is also unclear that the outcome will be achieved due to knock-on effects of traffic to other (already congested) routes which are unfit for the projected volume of residents traffic involved.
Initially, impacted residents' consultation was sought - but with a different location of the closure. See here for location consulted on: https://consult.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/transport/dovecotelane/supporting_documents/Dovecote%20Lane%20%20Plan.pdf
No feedback to consultees was received. The proposal was then changed and implemented without further consultation.
There is no accessible evidence of any monitoring and evaluation conducted for purpose of: justifying the project; provision of baseline data for project evaluation and evidencing future fund applications; accessibility of The Willows; impact assessments for Emergency services, and public safety.
Outcome
After forum communication to Via East Midlands Ltd was replied to very much maintaining the status quo, we now would like to petition NCC to cease the scheduled ETRO (March 2022) and consult residents further on the proposal, in accordance with their Consultation Plan Schedule, and the Notts CC Public Engagement Policy.
