Help Killisick Junior School Improve Road Safety on Killisick Road.

Help Killisick Junior School Improve Road Safety on Killisick Road.

The Issue

As concerned staff, pupils and local residents, we call upon Nottinghamshire County Council to review and improve road safety measures outside Killisick Junior School and along Killisick Road.

Killisick Road is a local hotspot for speeding motorists and dangerous driving.  Killisick Road is also a busy bus route making the road extremely dangerous for school children to cross.

There have been many near misses and accidents, with inconsiderate parking making Killisick Road even more hazardous for children and other road users.

We are requesting that the following actions are taken to make Killisick Road safer for children attending Killisick Junior School.

These include:

1) Traffic calming measures outside Killisick Junior School and along Killisick Road.

2) Electronic speed awareness signs and or speed cameras to enforce the speed limit.

3) Enhanced road safety signs and markings to enforce a strict 20 mph speed limit.

We believe that unless something is done to make the road outside Killisick Junior School safe.  It will only be matter of time before a very serious or fatal accident occurs.

Please help us to make Killisick Road safe for pedestrians and children attending Killisick Junior School.
