A developer with the help of the town of Hope Mills has a proposal before the Cumberland  county planning board 15 August 23 at 6pm. On the agenda is a zoning request to build hotel suites(commercial) on the old Hope Mills golf course in the general location where the club house was located. It will take up 4 acres and exit onto Golfview road. Bad idea, and as always most of all those living in the area knew nothing at all about this situation. 

If this action is approved or denied it will be sent to the Hope Mills commissioners for their action. Which from my understanding involves a public hearing. The commissioners are waiting on the county planning boards recommendation, anticipated to be sometime in September. If you’re concerned please attend 15 August 6pm. More to follow. Thanks
