Stop Selling Real Fur

The Issue

Many people enjoy shopping with Not on the High Street for their unique and customisable products. They are famed for championing small, independent business and delivering affordable, bespoke gifts.

Unfortunately though, the company also sells real fur items - something which is difficult to reconcile with their reputation for being an ethical and compassionate company. The site sells anything from real rabbit fur gilets to beaver fur capes and mink jackets.

For those that are unaware of the horrors of real fur, these PETA articles (which are very graphic) attempt to explain the torture and degradation of fur farms as well as the notorious mislabelling of fur products to pass off dog and cat fur as mink and rabbit. http://www.peta.org/issues/animals-used-for-clothing/animals-used-clothing-factsheets/inside-fur-industry-factory-farms/ ;

The Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade website also features some persuasive but disturbing information.  http://www.caft.org.uk/

Please sign this petition to urge Not on The High Street to turn their backs on real fur products and live up to their reputation for being an innovative and future-forward institution. The company has won multiple awards for being a pioneer for business women and small companies so lets encourage them not to tarnish those accolades by promoting this outdated, sinister and torturous industry.
