At CRMS they have a rule that states phones are to be off and away during the day. I however think that phones should be allowed in school when we are NOT in class. Yes it is disrespectful to be on the phone during class while your teacher is teaching. I however do not understand why we are not allowed to be on our phones during lunch, recess, or during passing. I also believe that if kids were allowed to be on there phones in the times that we are not in class, it will improve listening and learning because kids won’t have the urge to get on their phones during instruction.

I also believe that from a parents view the kids need to have their phones in case of emergency. Take the fire alarm going off for instance. Kids couldn’t have their phones out to talk to their parents. The parents were on Facebook talking and worried about their kid. Parents want to be able to get a hold of their kids in case of emergency. 
It is totally unfair, and I think our voices as students need to be heard. Sign this petition if you’re with me on letting phones be allowed in school during lunch and recess not during class. But if you sign this petition you are agreeing that you will NOT be on your phone during class because you can already have it out any other time.

When I get to 500 signatures I will hope to make this happen
