The Issue

At the Lord Mayor's Procession celebrations, there is a firework display at Norwich Castle. The use of traditional fireworks, with the loud explosions, not only disturbs the wildlife and local pets, but also puts people with high anxiety, PTSD and autism, as well as other conditions at serious risk. The disregard for so their welfare in order to have a firework display is unacceptable.
We are therefore petitioning that the council use low-noise or "quiet" fireworks for all future public displays.
We understand that there is great joy to be found in firework displays but it is the council's duty to look after its most vulnerable residents.
