Stop Northumberland Tories Slashing Your Library Service

Stop Northumberland Tories Slashing Your Library Service
The Issue
Northumberland County Council wish to extend austerity and cut a further £200,000 from your libraries over the next two years, this is following the Tory Prime Minister Boris Johnson announcing that austerity is over.
We want to see a more vibrant and healthy library service kept in the hands of the County Council and managed by professional librarians these cuts by Northumberland Conservatives will send the Library service into the third sector to be run by volunteers, after the current Tory administration have already slashed funding to the third sector, your library will rapidly disappear through a lack of funding and the Tories will blame then the Third Sector.
We believe that the only way to resist these cuts is to sign this petition and ensure you write to your Councillor and tell them of your opposition to these obnoxious and damaging cuts.
