Remove the bus lanes on Queens Road, Belfast

The Issue

Since the introduction of bus lanes to facilitate the new rapid travel scheme in Belfast there have been severely long delays affecting traffic on Queens Road and the general Titanic area. Delays are up to 1 hour for a journey which would have previously taken 3 to 4 minutes. The result of this is hundreds (if not thousands) of people stuck in severely heavy congestion daily, meaning they cannot get to where they need to be through no fault of their own (picking up children from nursery’s etc.). To add to this, the emissions from such heavy congestion heavily outweigh any benefit of the bus lanes!

The solution is the removal of these bus lanes. Given that the vast majority of people who work in, and visit the Titanic area have no option but to travel to via car, the bus lanes are redundant.
