Save The Grove Dirt Jumps and Bushland

The Issue

The Grove Bike Park was originally constructed many years ago by locals and in 2011 the then Manly Council demolished these jumps and built the present facility. Although this facility is fun for beginners and younger rider it never met the needs of advanced riders plus it was sadly never built correctly and then never received maintenance from the Council. Over the past year, local riders have added, by hand, a number of new jumps keeping in mind the protection of local flora and fauna. These new jumps have been instrumental in bringing together a community, creating and strengthening friendship bonds between an older generation group and younger teenagers with a mix of men and women, girls and boys.

The local riders are keen to work with Council to maintain the jumps and preserve the environment. These new jumps are at risk of being demolished and we need your support to preserve the jumps, preserve the local environment, and preserve the community. The aim of this petition is to get the Northern Beaches Council to legitimise the added jumps but also to ensure the regeneration of the native flora and control the obnoxious weeds such as Lantana which has a stranglehold in the area that is causing draining issues to local houses.

If you would like to offer your support to keep the jumps for locals as a recreation and leisure facility please sign the petition for the Northern Beaches Council and share with your friends to do the same.
