I am writing to respectfully ask Council to reconsider their action regarding the  complaint POL2108/00428 regarding the weekly Friday Pizza night at Alfonso’s Cafe, 43 Elvina Avenue, Avalon.

I strongly believe this to be an excessive reaction. This noise is actually not loud. Local musicians play quiet jazz/popular music. The music and the pizza shuts down by 8.30pm - it is an early family night which the locals absolutely love and which binds the community together. Before we had Alfonso, we had NOTHING. He and his wife work very hard to keep the cafe going and by shutting this down you risk shutting down the whole business.

Please have a heart and listen to Avalon. We do not want to lose this! Many members of the What’s on in Avalon group are quite horrified that this is happening, so soon after the Zubi/Bilgola fiasco. By shutting this night down you are removing more and more of the fabric of what makes Avalon a great place to live.

We request that Northern Beaches Council examine this as a special case and consider providing exemption for an extended hours DA considering the 'extended hours are just until 8:30pm one night per week.
