The 9 mile stretch between Kettering and Northampton has claimed too many lives. Let's show those that can make a change that we want action to be taken to make the road safer.

The A43 between Kettering and Northampton has always been notorious for accidents and traffic congestion. As one of the main routes between Kettering and Northampton, to major routes like the M1 etc., a single carriageway can no longer sustain the volume of traffic that it has to handle. Whether it be the daily rush hour commute, or heavy goods vehicles.

With the likes of heavy goods vehicles using the road and no safe places for overtaking, it is an all too regular occurrence that a dangerous overtake is made that results in a tragic accident. It is not only the overtaking however, with many dangerous junctions along the stretch where there can often be challenging foliage leading to obscured vision. Even if it is just a case of a car breaking down; with nowhere to go, the route can soon become a tailback all the way to Northampton, resulting in more gridlocked roads in areas that are up to 10 miles away from the broken down vehicle.

Let's take a minute to save lives, and make each and everyday a safer and happier journey for the thousands of people who use the road. If we save one life, surely that is worthwhile?
