It’s two years since we updated supporters of this petition – and two years since the temporary Sunrise Cycleway we all fought so hard to keep was removed.

In the meantime, North Tyneside Council has been developing plans for a permanent scheme (and see also Street Life in North Tyneside’s thoughts on the scheme) and we’d been expecting work to begin this autumn.

Yet there’s no sign of any work, nor any updates from the council.  

We’re asking you to write to your local Councillors and the Mayor today to ask for updates, action and to tell them your own personal stories of why a healthier, greener coast matters to you and your family.

This collective action will drive more accountability and ensure that priorities don’t shift or get diluted.
