Not long ago, I relocated to this town, full of hope for a brighter future for my family. One of the main factors that went into this decision was the promise of a childcare facility back in May 2023 that was suppose to be up and running September 2024. Yet, the leaves turned, snow fell, and now spring blooms anew without any progress towards the realization of this long-awaited project. My family—like many others—is gripped with financial strain because of the lack of childcare facilities. Our careers are stifled, and our children's social and developmental growth is hindered due to the absence of child-specific resources. 

The lack of fulfillment of these promises is not only a blight on our hardworking community but it's also pushing families like my own out—negating the growth, prosperity, and unity that our town should uphold.

More than ever, child care is critical. A study even shows that every dollar invested in early childhood education gives the economy about $6 worth of economic benefits down the line. Making early education a priority will enhance educational outcomes and reducing remedial education and criminal justice costs. (Source: HighScope Perry Preschool Study).
