At last night's (Thursday 26th August) meeting, the IM Kelly planning application was unanimously DEFERRED by councillors on the Planning Committee, despite planning officers recommending its approval! The application will be back in the council chamber at some point in the future, but only once IM Kelly has demonstrated it will sufficiently mitigate for the amount of wildflower meadow and biodiversity that will be lost due to development, an up-to-date environmental impact assessment has been carried out, and a masterplan for the whole site published.
The dramatic meeting can be viewed on Facebook in full here. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the council offices can be heard throughout!
This is a great result (albeit only the first battle of a long war!), but is proof that your fantastic support is having an impact, so THANK YOU!
