Stop the ban on personalising baby graves

In Scunthorpe, Grimsby and other areas of North Lincolnshire baby graves have always been allowed personalization. Grieving families have always been able to place plaques, headstones and ornaments in their baby's grave plots. Now however, they are telling families to remove all toys, plaques, headstones and decorations from their childrens grave and forcing them to have the headstone of the council's choice and nothing else. Today I was shocked to hear that I could only have a small butterfly headstone (in a choice of four colours), as that was all Woodlands Crematorium in Scunthorpe would allow. Any grave that already has a headstone not provided by the crematorium will be removed along with any other items in the baby garden. Some of these graves have been there for almost 20 years, and soon families will be receiving letters asking them to remove anything not provided by the crematorium. After asking why this would be put in place I was told that it is for health and safety reasons. Surely this is health and safety gone mad! Please sign this to show North Lincolnshire Council we are not going to allow them to do this. Baby loss is one of the hardest things to go through, and for them to tell families that they must remove headstones from their children's grave is a callous and cruel thing for them to do.
