Save Bocephus!

The Issue

On Saturday January 22, Bocephus, a male hound dog was adopted from the North Fork Animal Welfare league in Aquabogue.  He was finally starting his new life!  He had spent 6 months at Kent Animal Shelter, and was moved to NFAWL, Southold animal shelter  in Peconic, Long Island to get more exposure.  He had a tough life but loved humans.  He did not get along with other dogs or cats, and needed a no pet home to succeed.
Things took a turn for the worse, when after a few  days in his new forever home there was an altercation, and he bit the ex-boyfriend of the owner. He was returned to NFAWL, and put on a 10 day bite hold.  Gabby Glantzman-Stroup the shelter manager  immediatley made the decision to euthanize this dog at the end of the 10 day bite hold.  No rehabilitation, no rescues were looked for, nothing is being done to help this poor animal.  Technically any dog that’s returned to the shelter is always given another evaluation but this dog was not. They refused to do so. She does not want a dog with a bite history taking up one of her kennels, but he never had a bite history. This was one incident with her ex boyfriend in her home that Bo had never met before. This dog is a sweetheart and has never bitten anyone before. Unfortunately the new owner never introduced this new dog to her ex boyfriend. He just walked in on them unannounced. This dog Bo must have thought he was a stranger trying to harm his new owner and was trying to protect her. This new owner had been bringing Bo to work and everyone loved him and she didn’t have any problems with him until this altercation when her ex boyfriend walked in on them.
All of the volunteers who walk and exercise him, love him and want him to have a chance at a good life.  Please help these volunteers and tell the NFAWL to save BOCEPHUS.  Please sign this petition telling Gabby Glantzman-Stroup to do the rescue work that her organization pledges to do and help Bocephus, not Kill him.  We do not want KILL SHELTERS in our backyard.
