My 18 yr old son was riding a motorcycle, traveling 35 mph at 9pm in the dark when he came up on some grass clippings in the roadway. His rear tire lost traction and the bike came out from under him. The owner of the property came down the driveway and walked back to his house with my sons motorcycle in his ditch with approximately $3,000 damage. He never said a word. The North Carolina highway patrol showed up and said if he admitted to cutting his grass they would give him a citation. The highway patrol shortly after said he amitted to cutting his grass earlier in the day but didn’t know he left grass on the road. The property owner also said he wasn’t responsible for it. There was a lady following my my son that stopped and also told the trooper what had happened. They did NOT give him a citation and said I would have to talk to the owner. This is morally and ethically wrong. This needs to be enforced and stopped. If they are going to enforce other laws like speeding that injure and kill people then they need to enforce this also. Please help him and all other motorcyclists. My son has no collision insurance so now I need your help to get this enforced and possibly get his bike fixed.
