Justice for the Murder of Christian Griggs

Justice for the Murder of Christian Griggs
The Issue
On October 12, 2013 Christian Griggs was gunned down by his father-in-law, and local officials failed to conduct a proper investigation, bring any charges, or obtain justice for Christian and his family. In 2022, Christian's murder was detailed in the documentary series "True Crime: It Couldn't Happen Here" Season 1, Episode 9, titled "Angier NC".
Christian had gone to pick up his daughter Jaden, as planned, to meet her great-grandmother for the first time. Christian called his father stating that his father-in-law, Pastor Pat Chisenhall, was using profanity and not allowing Christian to see his daughter, to which his dad replied, “I’m on the way.”
Tony Griggs arrived at the Chisenhall residence to find his 23-year-old son lying face down on the front porch, having been shot 6 times - once in the abdomen, once in the shoulder, and four times in the back from an upward trajectory - suggesting Christian was lying face down when the four bullets were discharged into his back.
If there was video footage from the day Christian was killed, you would see the crime scene being altered and staged. There were 3 gunshot casings missing from evidence and Pat Chisenhall's son was allowed to enter an active crime scene on several occasions.
Pat Chisenhall claimed self-defense under the Castle Doctrine, but in 2018 a civil jury returned a unanimous verdict that Christian’s death was not self-defense, and that Pat Chisenhall was guilty of the wrongful death of his son-in-law. Charges must be brought against Pat Chisenhall for the murder of Christian Griggs.
Christian Griggs was a US Army combat veteran, loving father, son, brother, and husband. Christian should be alive today. Christian's future was stolen by Pat Chisenhall and the incompetence, corruption, and gross abuse of power among the Harnett County Sheriff Department. Pat Chisenhall and those involved MUST face consequences for this murder and provide Christian the justice he deserves.
NC officials have the power and responsibility to bring transparency, accountability, and justice.
We demand the North Carolina Attorney General, Josh Stein and Governor, Roy Cooper in conjunction with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Justice to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the gross negligence and maleficence of the Harnett County Sheriff Department. Pat Chisenhall should be charged to the fullest extent of the law.
