Ban Tethering, (no chains, no cables), in Lee County, NC
The Issue
Tethering creates aggressive and dangerous dogs, and places them at higher risk of starvation and neglect. In our county, the animal shelter relies on rescue groups to ‘handle’ aggressive dogs. These dogs are then offered for adoption. This cycle creates unsafe communities and does not fairly serve at risk dogs, which are often returned to the shelter. Also, our animal control system does not protect tethered dogs by removing them when they are clearly at risk of starvation and victims of neglect. We must be a voice for the voiceless by taking the first step: Ban Tethering. A nurturing organization that assists with keeping pets with owners by providing free fences and kennels to ensure keeping of the (proposed) tethering laws is under creation.
ONLY Lee County, NC residents are allowed to sign. Thank you!
