This is a SYSTEMIC issue that permeates our society and is targeting our elderly people.  This woman was settled in a senior residence, Norman Towers, and became the victim of elder abuse. She is a resident of Norman Towers legally but was made homeless by a FEDERALLY FUNDED RENOVATION where the construction crew/building management/and movers literally demolished her possessions which included medical equipment: oxygen, low air loss mattress, hospital bed frame and various other pieces of medical equipment.

Her life sustaining equipment was completely destroyed. Her tv's removed from the walls and broken, laptop stolen, iphone stolen and 2 rings and a diamond bracelet stolen. There was money in one of the large jars that was stolen as well. Her camera system was completely dismantled but first to stop me from seeing the destruction, they first put tape over the cameras. I was told by Barak who represents the building owner that he would do whatever the f he wanted to. I took pictures of everything and called the police and then contacted Sara Wallace. This story aired on Channel 4 News. Since the destruction, I have kept this woman at my home and purchased another bed but have not had the money to purchase all of the needed items. I am watching this woman deteriorate right in front of my eyes. You see, this woman is my mother and I do everything for her: EVERYTHING! Complete ADL's. I am angry and exhausted......During this election year, we need to see our elected officials step out of their comfort zones longer than the amount of time it takes for them to do a photo op that is funded by our tax dollars. 

You see, This woman is my Idol! I learned to study from her watching her at night after she has helped us with our homework after cooking and sitting us all down for a meal together. I modeled my work ethic and everything after her.

I've written letters and emails to Booker and even called to no avail.

I've also copied many officials on the original letter that I wrote to him with no responses.

I am now asking for your support by first signing a petition that I created addressing this situation and I am also requesting that you watch the news story as it aired on Channel 4 with Sara Wallace.

Then I am asking you to please forward this petition to as many as possible, to post and repost it.

Make Mrs. Susie Johnson whole again by replacing the destroyed and stolen property of hers during a federally funded renovation program during the COVID pandemic.  Mrs. Johnson is presently homeless as her home was destroyed and all of her belongings.  

My mother is homeless once again.  A few years ago there was a campaign launched that depicted how this woman was the victim of mortgage fraud by a known felon who went to prison for it but was allowed to keep most of the stolen money from victims.  The systems have failed this woman over and over again.  Mrs. Johnson has not walked since her home was stolen and is permanently disabled.  Please take note of all of the officials/agencies that were copied on the letter with no responses from them either.

I am writing for your assistance with helping my mother Mrs. Susie Johnson, an 86-year-old woman who has been the victim of elder abuse at Norman Towers in East Orange, NJ.  Mrs. Johnson is completely disabled and is a resident of this property or was until the renovation or destruction of her apartment took place.  My mother’s medical equipment and many of her possessions were destroyed as well as stolen and the property managers/owners have not attempted to replace any of her items nor have they even attempted to address the fact that a woman who has been through so much (I would like to personally discuss this with you as it is a lot) and now has a wound that was sustained during surgery at her sacral area that is not healing properly because her low air loss mattress was destroyed out of spite.  Senator Booker, the way they tried to hide their destruction was by disabling her cameras inside her home and then the destruction took place.  I called the police and have a complaint number regarding the destruction/theft of her property.  My mother is presently residing with me at my apartment without the needed medical supplies as I cannot afford to purchase all that is needed.  I purchased a hospital bed however that is not enough to sustain her,

Senator Booker I need your help in dealing with this abuse.  Actually, my mother’s apartment was aired on Channel 4 News as Sara Wallace came out and did an expose’.  There are many seniors that have experienced and still are experiencing problems there, but my mother’s case is extreme.  They destroyed the apartment and expected me to, I actually do not know what they expected me to do.  I was struck by construction materials on the first floor of the building in front of the property manager and it was caught on film.  I am having problems getting to treatment due to being at home with my mother.  I am in constant pain!
