The Atlantic Salmon Federation mission is to conserve and restore wild Atlantic salmon and their ecosystems.  I would like thank and applaud them in their efforts.  Here are two articles for you, one is about a 12 year salmon moratorium off the coast of Greenland which was largely due to the efforts of the ASF.  The second is an article found in today's Halifax Chronicle Harold written by Kris Hunter (ASF Regional Program Director for PEI and NS).
