The Municipality of St. Mary`s has hosted two meeting for folks within 5 km of the proposed Cochrane Hill Mine site who they say would be affected the most.  Those two meetings had about 45 people at both. There were many passionate responses against this proposed mine and none in favor!

The Municipality of St. Mary`s is hosting two more meetings for everyone to attend and voice concerns about this mine.  Its set up so everyone is given a chance to come to a mic and speak to the council. If there are folks for the mine this is where they will have a chance to speak, but so will folks who are against it.  The council will vote soon whether for or against this mine therefore we need to keep the pressure on here....     If you can we need you there to speak up against this mine.  My 9 year old daughter spoke at the last meeting with shaking hands she asked "if her dog Anakin drank the water would he die from it?  And then went on to say simply "I am not for this mine coming here."

The meetings are Tuesday February 12th (6-8pm)  and Saturday February 16th (2-4pm)
