I would like to nominate Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale for the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

There's not a single person in Houston that doesn't know this man's name; and probably Texas! 

Whenever there is a local disaster Mattress Mack is always the first to jump in and offer assistance. Whether it's simply a warm place to stay, a place to get a warm meal, or it's offering monetary assistance, this man is there, without fail. 

Hurricanes, heat waves, and polar cold fronts, you name it and he is there. He is the most selfless, giving individual that I have ever witnessed. I don't know him personally, but I feel like I do through his constant local media coverage and his commercials. 

Let's get this man the national recognition that he deserves. He has given so much of himself and I say it's high time, we give back to him.
