Dear Nobel Charter Middle School Staff:

During the Spring 2016 semester, the dress code has drastically changed for the female students. As of now, they are no longer allowed to wear clothing such as:

• sweatpants that are too tight around the knees
• tops that reveal shoulders
• skinny jeans that stick to the skin
• shorts that are not knee length

The school bans this type of clothing because it is too tight or too revealing. The school is more concerned with creating an environment where the male students do not get 'distracted' over what the female students are wearing. 

What kind of message does it send to young females when they are told they need to cover up so that the male students do not get distracted? Instead of telling female students to dress conservatively so that male students can learn properly, teach both male and female students to respect each other, despite what they are wearing. 

CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE LEARNING IS THE PRIORITY.
THE SEXUALIZATION OF FEMALE STUDENTS NEEDS TO STOP!!!
